The mission of the Livingston County Literacy Coalition is to champion the value of literacy by collaborating with community partners to provide coordinated literacy support for adults in Livingston County.
LCLC was founded to coordinate literacy resources in Livingston County and to identify literacy needs in our community. We train tutors and provide tutoring for adults with reading and writing needs.

We're delighted to announce Sarah Niskanen as our new Executive Director at LCLC, beginning May 1st!
Sarah holds Masters, Bachelors, and Associates degrees in various topics, including Legal Studies and Sociology. Her rich work and volunteer experience spans across various sectors, including literacy nonprofits, education technology, and two terms of service with AmeriCorps. In these roles, she has showcased her passion for program management and adeptness in grant writing, fundraising, and volunteer management.​
We're excited about the new perspectives and leadership skills she'll bring as we continue empowering adults through literacy.
