Our Mission

The Livingston County Literacy Coalition empowers adults who live or work in Livingston County to unlock their potential and transform their lives through free, personalized literacy tutoring provided by a team of dedicated and trained volunteer tutors.

Our Vision

We envision a thriving community where the transformative power of compassion, education, and collaboration with community partners ensures lifelong learning opportunities, strengthens families, and fosters economic and social self-sufficiency for all.

Livingston County Literacy Coalition Receives $10,000 Grant from
Dollar General Literacy Foundation to Support Adult Learners

The Livingston County Literacy Coalition (LCLC) is proud to announce that it has received a $10,000 grant from the Dollar General Literacy Foundation to support its adult literacy programs. This generous funding will help LCLC continue offering free, individualized instruction for adults who want to improve their reading, writing, math, and English language skills.

This local grant is part of the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to advancing literacy across the country. Since 1993, the Dollar General Literacy Foundation has helped more than 21.5 million individuals work toward their educational goals.

LCLC Chosen as Nonprofit Beneficiary by Coon Lake Hills Association

The Coon Lake Hills Association in Howell selected the Livingston County Literacy Coalition (LCLC) as the nonprofit beneficiary of their annual summer picnic. The event, held Saturday, June 14th, raised $483 in support of LCLC’s adult literacy programs.

We’re grateful to the Coon Lake Hills community for recognizing the importance of literacy and for helping us provide free educational services to adults throughout Livingston County. Every dollar supports learners on their path to greater opportunity.
