LCLC New Tutor Training — 2-Day Training

Begin your training to become a volunteer adult literacy or ESL tutor with LCLC. This is the first session of LCLC’s two-part New Adult Tutor Training. Participants will learn about adult learners, learner-centered instruction, tutoring strategies, lesson planning, and the resources available through LCLC. Important: Attendance at both September 22 and September 24 sessions is required to complete the training.

Are you new to the Livingston County Literacy Coalition? Join us for our 2-day New Volunteer Tutor Training!
Livingston County Literacy Coalition welcomes new volunteer tutors for this two-day training designed to prepare you to work with adult learners in our community.
During the training, you’ll learn about adult learners, practical strategies for tutoring English language learners (ESL) and adult basic education (ABE) learners, lesson planning, goal setting, and the tools and resources available to LCLC tutors.
No teaching experience is required. LCLC provides training, resources, and ongoing support to help you feel prepared and confident as a volunteer tutor.
This is a two-day training. Please plan to attend both sessions:
