The Michigan Adult, Community, and Alternative Education Association (MACAE) held its first annual Adult Literacy Summit at the Livingston Educational Service Agency on March 12th. Leaders in adult literacy from across the state gathered to discuss issues, generate new ideas, and share resources on topics ranging from program development and the training of tutors to grant management and the importance of data in advocacy.
LCLC was ably represented by its new Volunteer and Community Outreach Manager, Breanne Green, and its Board Secretary, Joel Render, who had helped to plan the event. Both came away with valuable new insights that they are eager to adapt and implement to best serve the literacy needs of adults in Livingston County.
