Livingston County Literacy Coalition Receives ProLiteracy National Book Fund Grant
Updated: Aug 22
The Livingston County Literacy Coalition (LCLC) is proud to announce that we have been selected as a 2026 ProLiteracy National Book Fund grant recipient, receiving $1,420.83 in instructional materials to support adult learners and volunteer tutors in Livingston County.
For 30 years, ProLiteracy's National Book Fund has provided selected adult education programs with print and digital instructional resources. Recipients are chosen through an application process that considers program needs and how organizations plan to use the resources to increase their capacity to serve adults in their communities.

How the ProLiteracy National Book Fund Grant Will Support Adult Learners
LCLC will use the National Book Fund award to expand our English as a Second Language (ESL) resource library with additional instructional materials for adult learners and their volunteer tutors.
These resources will strengthen the materials available through LCLC and help tutors provide individualized instruction based on each learner's needs and goals.
The award will also provide ProLiteracy ESL materials for new volunteer tutors, giving them additional resources as they begin working one-on-one with adult learners in our community. This reflects the purposes identified in LCLC's original grant request.
Strengthening Adult Literacy in Livingston County
For LCLC, receiving the ProLiteracy National Book Fund grant means more than adding books to a shelf.
It means giving volunteer tutors additional tools to support their learners. It means expanding the resources available to adults working to strengthen their English language and literacy skills. And it helps LCLC continue building the capacity needed to serve more adults throughout Livingston County.
We are grateful to ProLiteracy and the National Book Fund for investing in adult literacy and recognizing the work taking place right here in our community.
